Golf

The Straits at Whistling Straits
Open, rugged and windswept terrain defines the walking-only, links-style Straits course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A masterpiece in the world of golf created by Pete Dye, The Straits at Whistling Straits® was ranked #3 in Golf Digest's 2019/2020 America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, #5 in GolfWeek's 2018 Best Resort Courses, and #21 in Golf Digest's 2019/2020 America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses.

The Irish at Whistling Straits
Just inland from the great lake and interspersed by four meandering streams, the grassland-and-dunes aspect of the Irish course is a deceivingly tranquil landscape. Both traditional and memorable, the Irish course is full of unique challenges.
The Irish at Whistling Straits® was ranked #39 in GolfWeek's 2018 Best Resort Courses and #43 in Golf Digest's 2019/2020 America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.

The River at Blackwolf Run
Pete Dye designed one of the best golf courses in America on rich land once known by the Winnebagos and Algonquins for exceptional fishing and hunting. Intimidating to the professional, fair and dramatic for the amateur, this “beauty of the beast” measures 7,404 from the back tees with a slope of 151. Target landing areas, strategic bunkering, large undulating greens, and water or gorges on 14 of the 18 holes characterize the challenge of this championship course. The playing values of the River course are a match for its natural beauty.

The Meadow Valleys at Blackwolf Run
Professionals and amateurs of all skill levels can experience a day of golf like no other on the Meadow Valleys course. Described as both subtle and devilish, it winds through meadows and charges across ravines, reflecting the natural features of the Wisconsin terrain. This championship course challenges even the experts to weigh the relative advantages of distance and accuracy, though staggered tees put much of the danger out of harm's way for the average golfer.
The Meadow Valleys was ranked #57 in Golf Digest's ranking of America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses for 2019/2020.

The Greenhouse
This charming antique solarium from Chorley, Lancashire, in the north of England, was meticulously dismantled there, transported halfway 'round the world and reassembled piece by piece to stand in its current home, The American Club® Fountain Courtyard.
It now serves as a delightful garden café for afternoon and evening refreshments. Bring your laptop and get caught up on emails while you enjoy coffee and pastries, or meet friends for relaxing conversation. The Greenhouse offers a tempting selection of deli sandwiches, sweet treats, homemade ice cream, European pastries, signature teas and espresso drinks.
